The SPECS project is a collaborative effort between Twin Cities local school districts and the Insitute of Technology's Laboratory for Computational Science and Engineering (LCS&E) at the University of Minnesota. The misson of SPECS is to develop curricula for teaching computational science at the high school level. Funding for SPECS comes the National Science Foundation though the Metacenter Regional Alliance grant that the Laboratory has with the National Center for Supercomputing Applications.
